The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) has awarded a $185,110 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to Lawrence County for road improvements.
The CDBG grant was prepared and submitted by the North Central Alabama Regional Council of Governments (NARCOG) Regional Planning Agency.
The project will resurface approximately 0.80 miles of roadway along County Road 407 in the Red Bank community of the Town Creek area, a primary transportation route for local residents. The road improvements include surface preparation, resurfacing with 1.5-inch hot-mix asphalt, tack coat application, traffic control, and new roadway striping and markings.
Once completed, the improvements will benefit 49 residents, all of whom are low-to-moderate income individuals.
