Moulton Awarded $500,000 CDBG Grant

Feb 2, 2026
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) has awarded a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the City of Moulton to complete sewer improvements aimed at strengthening the infrastructure and improving public health.

The CDBG grant was prepared and submitted by the North Central Alabama Regional Council of Governments (NARCOG) Regional Planning Agency.
The project area is located south of historic downtown Moulton and includes portions of south-central Moulton near College Street, Somerville Avenue, Main Street, East Street, Rosenwald Street, and Byler Road, as well as nearby residential streets close to Moulton Elementary and Moulton Middle Schools.

Through this project, the City of Moulton will rehabilitate aging sewer laterals by cleaning and inspecting existing lines, installing new PVC laterals, applying cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, and installing new cleanouts.

The sewer improvements will benefit 244 residents, including 155 low-to-moderate income individuals.
